selected reasons why you're likely to see me cohabiting with 3 fellow swinging singletons, all of whom holding strictly nothing more than absolutely platonic feelings for one another, in a condo penthouse 15 years down the road:

1) the constitution of marriage is overrated. why would anyone need the reassurance of marriage as a ritualistic ceremony if they weren't in one way or another insecure of their relationship in the first place? it's as if people get married not to mark a milestone per se, but to tie each other down because they've supposedly marked a milestone, if u get me. if one turns astray before marriage, it's because they haven't found the right one. if it happens after marriage, it's adulterous. all because a ritualistic ceremony took place in between?

2)can somebody tell me which aspect of cohabitation exhibits social deviancy in any form? cos try as i might, i fail to wholeheartedly appreciate the heinousness of something just because the common folk deems it morally objectionable. i subscribe to the harm princple (i.e. cohabitation is ok because everyone ends up happy and it harms no one, but beastiality is not ok because it injures small animals. hahaha)

3)i kind of think that my idea of a romantic relationship can possibly be sought after in the realm of planet jupiter. no, seriously, i don't know what is wrong with me. i find myself so instictively turning my back on every single nondescript detail of a slow-burning breakup, and purging every single candycoated romantic lovey dovey tender motion out of my system. and it's not as if i had a bad relationship to start with. 我只能说,我向往脱俗唯美。perhaps that's the unfortunate mental by-product of my watching of too many movies depicting romance budding from the most unorthodox of situations. boys don't cry, lust caution, blue gate crossing, august rush, brick lane. it's hard not to see why reality is rendered so painfully juvenile. indeed, see you in the realm of planet jupiter.

4)ang lee made inhibition cooler than exhibitionism. ahh, someone who concurs.

5)or am i not in the right position to make such romance and marriage-damning, fate-sealing statements at the tender, inexperienced age of 19?

anyway, i loved august rush. this is the first time a precocious kid endeared more than he annoyed. i don't specifically know why, but it's an extremely warm and fuzzy film to look at. some things are worth temporarily suspending rationality for - a heartwarming tale devoid of cliched melodrama and backed by a beautiful score is certainly one of them.

back to the orgasmic outfields next week.
