no, i don't actually have an uncontrollable urge to exterminate teenage girls
Hi, i can be boring sometimes. And i often sound evil to conceal life's banalities. But i really am a kind and peace-loving creature. That despite the URL. |

was revisiting some of my older blog entries and this sense of disgruntlement about life in general just surged from within. (well, again...) i so wish i'm living the life i lived, to write like how i wrote. where entries flooded in one after another just cos' too many things that unfolded were worthy of some recording and reminiscing. life pretty much amounts to a big, fat nothing now. i'm waking up to each day with a heart no longer filled with some sorrowful longing for the pleasures of civilization but dreadful disdain for the sheer monotony of life. now, that explains why my previous entry dates all the way back to june the 3rd. and just so you guys know, what could possibly spur these periodic melodramatic whinings out of a pooped out NSF's barely functioning brain more effectively than a $350 CONCERT JEOPARDIZED AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE??????? i think i gotta go take 50 deep breaths before i let loose of some newly-acquired hokkien profanities. trust me, the profanity-word-bank is fuller now than ever. i'm quarter-way through i'm quarter-way through i'm quarter-way through a large dose of exploitative films over the weekend surely didn't hurt. after a record-breaking 6 weeks absence from the cinemas (the last film being summer palace), no thanks to the slew of boring, banal (and also bloodless) sequels that have been hogging the screens endlessly, i FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY CAUGHT black snake moan, spider lilies and grindhouse: death proof!!!! *burst into tears* ![]() black snake moan has gotta be the best of the three. i mean, christina ricci, samuel l jackson and justin timberlake makes for such an eclectic combination. the movie's somehow... spiritually deep with an exploitative angle to it. ahhh. that's an lzt-type movie. heh. still in the midst of locating the right victims for these upcoming ultragore flicks, for which i can expect no one to wildly volunteer to watch together with me: Captivity (July) Black Sheep (July) Grindhouse: Planet Terror (August) Hostel: Part II (August) consider yourselves warned. haha. Labels: periodic whinings of a peeved, pissed, pooped out NSF it doesn't take a koh chau sean (still held in such high reverance?) to figure out why my 19th birthday yesterday was such a spectacular one. one that would probably make hordes of fellow worshippers around go literally green with envy. but even a koh chau sean would probably find it hard to come to terms with the surreality of all the glamarous drama which unfolded at the atrium of the unglamarous chinatown point yesterday afternoon. i'm still insanely delirious. like i just unclassily stumbled out of a dreamily woven XMM fantasy. embarrassingly overwhelming yet every-single-bit worth relishing at the same time. do you believe in fate and pre-destiny? i, too, thought that these were merely quintessential idol drama taglines before i witnessed right before my eyes, how everything magically (cue tinkle plus some golden glitter) fell into place; how every piece of the puzzle managed to fit so nicely together at the most appropriate of times to formulate the most spectacular birthday present ever. 1) live firing on 2nd of june got cancelled for completely perplexing if not unknown reasons and lowly armoured infantry troopers suddenly found themselves with 4 days leave on their hands 2) i spontaneously asked mariam and gf down to chinatown point, and they gladly agreed, hoping to spot an inner xdd emergence - i couldn't possibly have gone on stage without their screaming and pointing 3) the event was held on a sacred 2nd of june - and naturally birthday boys had an advantage over the others when it came to selecting people up on stage to sing xiao qing ge (ok, im revealing it bit by bit here) it's time to let pictures reveal what the heck i'm actually talking about for the past three paragraphs, if you don't know me well enough to already know... ![]() the day began with an interaction session held at a particular mouldy kster karaoke nestled in some obscure corner of lucky chinatown. SODAGREEN(yes, band name finally properly revealed!) - left to right: jia kai (who won over two new 1/5-of-sodagreen supporters just by raising an eyebrow and twitching a few facial muscles yesterday), endearing xinyi, the round mass of a xiao wei, androgynous qingfeng and funnyman ah fu ![]() i know what you're thinking - androgyny is the new masculinity, right? HAH. actually, gender boundaries are so blurred nowadays - do you think androgyny necessarily translates to some sort of gender identity crisis kinda thing? i think not. in fact, some girls are attracted to androgynous guys, right, ah ngiam? more pics: ![]() ![]() and then, in a truly out-of-the-world moment in time, i went on stage and found myself crooning xiao qing ge together with two other contestants. (my description is bland and devoid of any excitement, i know, but have you ever experienced what is known as 'a loss for words'?) ![]() ... and subsequently won the damn thing (?!) ... and subsequently won a plasticbagload of unreleased sodagreen merchandise ... and subsequently received it from qingfeng ... and subsequently requested for him to look into mariam seow's camera, which he could not find, resulting in an awkward 20 second handshake pose moment onstage, which possibly incited some form of furore downstage ![]() ![]() ... and was subsequently requested to sing another sodagreen song onstage, this time round with accompaniment ,more unreachable high notes and not forgetting sodagreen clapping along in the background... ![]() crazy enough? no, one of the crew members just had to remember that it was my birthday. she then proceeded to ask qingfeng to write me a birthday message on the album cover ![]() ![]() so, is the giggly fanaticism forgivable now? anyway, thank you all for the wishes and presents! CCC peeps for the $70 sodagreen concert ticket 38s for the $60 christina aguilera concert subsidy 3405 for the gory and bimbotic dvds maoxian for the sodagreen album 2nd uncle for the puma watch (which happens to be what other colour but green) brothers for the belt ah ma for the angpow and the countless people who bothered enough to send me the greetings on the day itself many thanks :) it makes me feel like weekdays are still worth living because weekends are always a welcoming respite from hell, when i'll get to meet people whom i know i'll click with, and people who love me for who i am, be it the giggly teenager who prides himself by going giggly only over something non-mainstream, the irritating brat who never fails to mock, chide, and make people assume different gender identities, or the eyeball-rolling guy who'd rather die than walk into a cinema this holiday season because all that's screening is shrek, spiderman, pirates, transformers, and fantastic four. *rolls eyeballs again* today's the much dreaded book in day. till then. |
