woohoo~

here i am, getting serenaded by alicia keys & anthony callea's songs in the comfort of my home, while others are slogging away at school! this feels liberating! lol, actually, its liberty at the expense of a sore throat and runny nose. whatever it is, i'm just glad to be able to take one day off my hectic schedule to indulge in escapism! (escaping from c maths lecture test, that is)

lol, but being the ever-dilligent kid that i am, im actually completing maths tutorials admidst my slacking session! yet diligence doesn't necessary yield results. what am i trying to say?

im trying to say that.
i failed my economics test.

HEE. 10/25. the double-digit part of the score is comforting though. i studied hard for this one! and i am clueless as to why my essay was deemed 'superficial' by the very puny miss wong. big sigh. doesn't matter, i shldnt harp on this one cos the one on 28/2 is the real deal!

jc life has been vibrant thanks to the numerous cockroaches surrounding me. i don't resent coming to TJC anymore. :D

owell, that day, i had a talk with an uncle of mine. he's been battered by maritial problems, infidelity, bankruptcy and -gasp- a jail term. all of the zeal i saw in him in the past had been diminished. its saddening. he kept encouraging me to persue law/medicine courses overseas. (put aside the fact that i know medicine is already irrelevant) though there was no clear-cut explanation why he wanted me to persue such courses, it was alrd self-explanatory by the end of the convo, that his advices were all money-driven. when i told him i might settle for e chi language faculty in NUS, he subconsciously let out a big "HAR?!"

owell, owell, so shld money be the main driving force behind one's persuit of education?i'm currently..left undecided. i know that if i go on to study chinese in university, i will not end up fetching monster wages, but the choice is also closely tied with considerations for my interest and social life. so what do i do? aiy.. i shall not try so hard to answer my own doubts fr e time being..

back to tutorials..
and the anticipation for 28/2 continues....

lol. 8 days without an entry (again). what's with my passiveness nowadays?

anyway, did v.day just pass?

lol, so much to infer from the expression alone.

gf says im callous, i probably am. only that i'm callous by choice, not by birth, just to correct you :D. ask me why i'm so indifferent towards affairs of the heart.. and i'll tell you: i don't know. haha.. perhaps its the stunted emotional growth. ya'know, whoever remains so unexpressive at J1 level? or maybe its gotta do with the dearth of those typical events in my life, those that have happened to anyone else but me. sometimes i feel pathetic, but so what if you're liberal? how does it make anyone anymore superior? people can think that it's wrong for me to withhold and keep mum when it comes to anything romance, but that's just me. i don't need to be desperate for attachment to show people im not unfeeling. all i wanna do is to be true to myself..... and who's to say that mentalities don't eventually change in say, 5 years time?

that was so heavy. bweagh.

lol.. so many people have told me that i look like an IP student from temasek academy. haha, i don't blame them, cos ya know, i myself don't immediately associate my reflection in the mirror with a JC1 student's image. but, i shall take this as a compliment! mwahahaha. when all of ya'all start getting wrinkled at 40, u'll envy me for looking younger than my age! haha. anyway, IP students are supposedly intelligent, so er-hrm, i should be so flattered!

one revolting discovery this morning. i was surfing my bro's friendster account when i came across one of his friend's account.

before you get curious and venture into the link, bear in mind that:

this guy is ten freakin years old. u noe, 10, as in primary four. got it? ok lol. here's the link, for anyone who's willing to get enlightened today:

http://www.friendster.com/user.php?uid=13291134

reflection time!

today, i learnt that there can actually be a link between "i'm n0w 10yrs oLd b0rn 0n 29july... b0rn wif a big pair of eyes a big n0se n a big m0uth.." and "i need u alot.. i need ur love to keep me living.. without ur love i will die lehh..i love u with my heart n soul...can u be with me forever?"

i feel knowledgable now!

haha.. i suppose there's a difference between the callous and the hot-blooded. here i am puking out my intestines over the account, who knows, others may actually be feeling, "wow! the effects of romancing singapore are that extensive! cool! our birth (and abortion) rates are salvageable now!"

i don't know what the world is turning into, but i know that somewhere out there, somebody must be cursing me for saying all these. whatever.

ponned road run today. dn give a damn.

yes, release of o level results are a mere 6 days away. wonder how i'll be like the night before. lol, i might die of an anxiety attack! for all u noe. i've dreamt twice bt my l1r5. one's 11, the other's 7. argh. im worried cos i've pinned my hopes up high. anything >8, i'll be disappointed.. sian.. hope for the best. (can't bring myself to expect the worst though!)

argh. another source of my worry is that the very adored plan A might just get re-implemented after JAE. i will cry buckets (haha not to that extent), but the reverting WILL definitely get me all depressed. i dnnn wannna get freakinn lumped together with people i can't mix with!! argh. scg32/05 rocks. we must fight for our rights! hahaha..

i felt mighty screwed that day. cos of all that blatant insensitivity. all that blunt indifference. it won't take an einstein to figure out that the detachment is prominent. oh well, who's to blame? me, for all the ridicules and i-don't-share-secrets policy, or u, for so brilliantly overlooking all my moments of discomfort? don't leave someone so awkwardly out of place, then wonder why he looks so disgruntled. no point.

leaving behind all that unhappiness, CCC outing to marina bay & river hongbao was a blast! lol, though the steamboat dinner was (uncomfortabally) reminiscent of some og outing weeks ago, the quirky people and funny convos made up for every other flaw (read: revolting wet-market smell and ants-infested holes along the floor) lol.

the moment we stepped out of the mrt station, the promoters from this pretty run-down steamboat restaurant started touting us pedestrians like nobody's business. lol. the last i remembered, soliciting is illegal in singapore. but owell, who really cares bout laws when they provide a private vehicle to ferry us to n fro? owell.. so the big bunch of us squeezed into this mini-bus, avoiding the LARGE crowd queuing for the bus. hmm. all i can say is, ingenious marketing strategy lah, haha but be careful lest some maniac decides to dial 999 and have ya'all charged for illegal soliciting. YAY. i think that wld be funny. :P

after the steamboat dinner, a big bunch of us gladly utilized the return transport provided for us.. urm.. just that the return transport takes in the peculiar form of a.. lorry. lol mark my words.. it's just another twisted version of a motion stimulator! it was exihlirating, almost an alpha-8 already. thanks to the sharp bends which the driver so DISCREETLY maneuvered at high speed, we were THIS far from being flung onto the road. LOL, but it was fun. i like the feeling of being almost flung :D

on to the river hongbao we went. usual fare..ya'know, the nondescript stalls selling the oh-so-groundbreaking fried bee hoon... dragon beard candy..CDs by singers of CT-girls calibre.. lol.. it's just like a pasar malam, with the intricate decos making the sole distinction..

BUT.

who wld've thought we'd be interviewed by ch U news! LOL. oh, shouldn't we be so starstruck? our very own homegrown best newscaster-of-the-year, TUNG SOO HUA, interviewed the whole bunch of us! hehe. dazed and bedazzled (ok exaggerating), we offered(or rather shouted out) our well wishes to the .. videocam. haha. i even snagged (ok i didn't snag la) a personal interview!! LOL. silly. but i don't think our segment was broadcasted (aww). must be the fact that our gleaming oily faces were too appalling for national TV. owell.

went to river hongbao again on first day of chinese new year. boy, was it a day of scandalous sightings! LOL. spotted scandalous shi-chen behaving clandenstinely *serves a whopping cough* with *whopping cough* gggguuoo.. LOL sorry gwen. u must've thought i'm the ultimate papa's boy. what stark contrast haha. bet u'll have a smashing vday.

saw mr ng too heh. or rather, a never seen before un-waxed mr ng. lol ain't tt bad to go au naturel after all ya? gleaming in a state of bliss with his new found marital status. lol. yes, i'm just tryin to say that he was with his wife. contrary to malicious(lol) rumours i've heard frm mariam, his wife seemed really poised and elegant. nevermind her age. mr ng's damn friendly as usual. what an eligible bachelor he was. lucky you, mrs ng.

overall, i had a so-so chinese new year.

the biggest grievance? my angpows were unfortunately subjected to parental taxation of up to 75%. how depressing. yes, let me hear ya'all snigger and chide my pathetic financial state. lol. kiddin.

watched i do i do too. one thing: jack neo's irreverent humour is getting tired. year after year, it's the same political jokes pinpointing our already pretty-efficient government. insatiable jack neo needs to be more contented, i feel. this one really pales in comparison to his previous efforts.

the self-confessed armchair critic says: not recommended. better off watching i not stupid VCD

LOL. the morning announcement. im glad i got this opportunity to muster up some courage. though this came at an opportunity cost of getting apprehensive and restless throughout the CNY holidays, im still glad i managed to complete the task without any major screwups.

READ: without any major screwups. -> that doesn rule out the occurence of minor screwups. haha..

LOL. the minor screwup was actually only a trivial detail that only meticulous people like mr tong wld take offence to. u see, halfway into the skit, i actually let loose my wagging tongue and unintentionally uttered a taboo word. (taboo, strictly in tong sense)

guess which word.

.
..
...
....
.....

somebody cue the drumroll...

ANS: MEH

lol apparently i was supposed to converse in proper english. and any singlish integrated into the speech is considered a violation to the school's "speak-good-english-policy" BUT. i'm really sorry. ive been so accustomed to meh-ing, mah-ing and lah-ing. i let slip of that taboo word. arghhh. actually, i partially agree that it indeed sounds slightly unrefined on stage, haha.. but, no use whining over a .. spilt word?! hehe

thanks to all who encouraged me. :D :D m-wahh! thanks really, for all ur kind comments! thx a trillion!

and for that particular someone who was sensitive enough to say smth as degradative as "u sounded like a girl shrieking",

THANKS. i'll try to reciprocate ur graciousness.

=D

moving on to TAR6, although kris and jon didn't win, they'll always be the winners in the hearts of many! it dawned on me that jon is 29 and kris is already 30! and suddenly, their graciousness all started to make more sense. (kendra's 25) and to quote an msn nick, "kris & jon - match made in heaven". indeed.

Kris in Senegal, "All the people and culture, it's enlightening!"
Kendra in Ethiopia, "What a wretched country! They just keep breeding"

i can't wait for the next season!

and i finally got my ANTHONY CALLEA CD! whoppppee! im elated. but the "the prayer" remix is absolutely ghastly and amateurish. nevermind, anth's voice is all that matters!

=D

10 days without an entry! lol. but i vow not to abandon blogging - it's a wonderful outlet, im just pressed for time =)

over the entire month of january, i found myself become increasingly fanatical towards..

u may have guessed it,

kris & jon! is it even possible for anyone to NOT like them? my heart skipped a beat last episode when they were just another klutzy taxi driver away from elimination. phew.

but my adoration for the duo also made me ponder why im so easily swayed and affected by celebrity figures. i wonder why im so fervent towards idolization. experts say it's a growing phase where teenagers seek emotional attachment by worshipping the superior...

oh my, the hard-hitting realization that.. i'm in need for some emotional attachment!! (*smiles with mock-enlightenment*)

anyway, smth else dawned upon me too. i think im too loudmouthed hehe and in some cases...uncouth. ever since i stepped into scg32/05 the saobao(flirtatious bun) haven, i simply cannot stop myself from spewing rubbish sentences after rubbish sentences. the term saobao slips off my mouth approximately 100 times per day, and i think it has surpassed cockroach as the favourite inane phrase by yours truly.

LOL. but that's not to say that my ridiculous antics aren't gratifying at all. i've dug up the flirtatious buns from within the hearts of peeps with intimidatingly cool exteriors (lol yexian, can u believe i actually classify you as a saobao with a intimidatingly cool facade? that was the first impression)..

and the point of operation call-everyone-you-meet-on-the-streets-saobao? i don't know. to live a bizzare goofy, semi-ludicrous life everyday, and rid myself of any unhappiness through absurdity. LOL. that's my exclusive therapeutic treatment.

haha, im so glad i'm surrounded by all the silly saobaos in scg32/05! u cockroaches are such wacky creatures! may plan A never come to light, ever again. die, plan A die. die, plan A die. die, plan A die

the thought of plan A being put into place is terribly appalling. so unrealistic are the claims of "you get to widen ur social circle!" yadah yadah. different classes for different subjects, it only means more superficial acquaintances and less true friends. social life in JC is one wholly important factor tt's gonna affect the whole well-being throughout the gruelling 2 yr course. i am very dreading the day when a zealous mrs lim comes on stage during morning assembly and announces, "we've got plan A fixed!" oh no.

oh, well...
