burnout.

my prelims preparation momentum is not nearly half as rigorous as what i had during the jcts period. im officially suffering from a major burnout. yesterday was supposed to be rocks-and-landforms intensive but there was just this repulsive force that pulled me apart from the notes. i eventually ended up walking in aimless circles in the living room.

the idealistic notion would be that studying rocks and landforms would be such a breeze by now. hey, after all, it's been regurgitated to death over the past 1.75 years. but no, truth is, the very fact that ive chanted my way through rocks and landforms 50 times over is what's making me blank out more and more as i attempt to plough through it for the 51st, 52nd and 53rd time. etchplanation is intriguing no doubt, but the novelty of regolith-stripping and bornhardt-downwearing surely wears off someday.

everyone battles with stereotypes. but i think ive learnt to accept it. why do i even need to account to others regarding how i do not spend all my weekends burying myself in michael hill? why do i even need to flare up over what a particular a***n calls me behind my back? i bet he has a bugging inferiority complex hidden somewhere beneath that headstrong facade.

in JC, 'hardworking' is a belittling term synonymous to muggerish behaviour. i seriously don't think anyone feels honoured to be branded as 'hardworking'. more valued is the attribute of being able to slack totally and still attain mediocrity. consistency is secretly frowned upon by most, more acceptable is the practice of last minute chiong-ing. haha. that's the way life goes.

but anyway, im so glad our taiwan trip is indeed realizing. im so gonna jet off immediately after my As to play my ass off before i come back to face the (mandated) music. mindef better not give me any immigration troubles or i'll curse pulau tekong gets swept off by a tsunami or something.
